Oy! A Year Without A Post!

The world has not come to an end. So, really there's no excuse for not posting--except of course for life, but everyone deals with that.

Eczema Update:
It still sucks, but it's just the body's reaction to the assault of allergens. The allergies alone make life difficult, especially being so busy, but I truly believe my son is saving our lives. Since there are so many things he cannot eat, there are now sooooo many things WE can't eat. It's a good thing.

Other than that Kevin AND Siobhan are best friends one minute and bitter enemies the next. It's a beautiful thing.

Craftiness Update:
I am learning to knit. Finally my scarves don't look like homeless people own them. Next up hopefully some sewing this summer! A skirt for me? Definitely some Thai Fisherman pants (any hints on good fabric for these would be appreciated), and a dress or two for Barbie.

Ah Spring, I love you, but Summer? Oh, Summer you may ravage me.

Eczema is NOT Sexy

So I haven't posted in a while, mostly because I have been to busy holding my son to keep him from scratching and getting another staph or strep infection on his skin. He spent most of the Christmas holiday looking like a meth addict. I know this sounds mean, but it's true, this picture was of a really good day, and it was red, patchy and rough all over his little body. Eczema is a beast and doctors aren't looking to cure it, they are waiting for Kevin to grow out of it...maybe.

So after allergy testing (milk, egg, and peanut allergies), Pampers, Luv's, Huggies, 7th Generation, flax oil, probiotics, Aquaphor, Vaseline, Triple Paste Cream, Soy formula, oatmeal baths, emu oil, coconut oil, olive oil, and probably more stuff I can't remember, we are now on hypoallergenic formula and CeraVe cream. He is amazingly better, not cured, but finally soothed and full of so much more energy everyday. Two weeks and counting people.

Embarrasing Bath Photo

It was going well, and then the water cooled off and the tears began. Such is life.

Kensington Park Picnic

Siobhan had a lot of fun getting her face painted at the picnic. She asked for a princess and got one. She carried a mirror around the rest of the day so she could see it.




























Kevin happily snoozed through most of the event. He woke up just in time to say, "bye"!

Sausalito or the French Riviera

We went took a day trip to Sausalito when Kevin was 3 weeks old. Big sister didn't get to come along! Shhh, don't tell. Sausalito has been compared to the French Riviera, after I see the French Riviera, I will let you know if that comparison is fair.
Kevin spent most of day happily sleeping!
